Mangwi Atia

Mangwi Atia is a proactive leader who guides organizations and employees toward success: She transforms vision into action and results.

Atia advocates research, engagement, innovation, and impact in organizations and communities. She has served on multiple boards, committees and panels: Selective Service System, United States Department of Veterans Affairs, National Black MBA Association, California Arts Council, City of Los Angeles, Mission Hills Neighborhood Council, University of Virginia, University of Southern California, and University of California – Santa Cruz. In each position, she creates value by bringing insights, sharing best practices, and helping stakeholders see the benefits of products, services, and solutions.

Atia supports organizations with outlined forward-thinking initiatives and actionable plans akin to educational attainment, economic growth, public health, and sustainability. She serves on the Black Alumni Weekend Planning Committee for the University of Virginia Alumni Association. Her commitment to clean energy standards entails identifying, analyzing, communicating, implementing, and adopting solutions and technologies. She chaired and co-chaired committees planning and implementing professional and economic development programs and events for civic and charitable organizations in past tenures.

Atia honed her leadership, analytical, and organizational skills at prominent institutions, where she identifies opportunities, transforms operations, and sustains change. She empowers talent to adapt and thrive, in which they reach their goals and attain higher performance. Her professional and interdisciplinary background equips her to create short- and long-term value for organizations and stakeholders.

Atia holds a Bachelor’s in Global Economics from the University of California – Santa Cruz and a Master’s in Research, Statistics and Evaluation from the University of Virginia. Her credentials include Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Agile Project Management, and Artificial Intelligence Project Management.

Atia received scholarships and fellowships from the National Library of Medicine, Lumina Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, AmeriCorps, and more.
